Flashbacks to science class anyone? Chlorophyll and chlorophyllin (a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll), have a myriad of benefits, your skin health being just one of them.
Chlorophyll is chock-full of vitamins and has antioxidant properties and can be beneficial for several reasons.

- Green beans and leeks: Just a cup has 8 mg of chlorophyll.
Other great food sources of chlorophyll are wheatgrass, peas, asparagus, celery. broccoli, grapes, honeydew melon and kiwi.
SUPPLEMENTING WITH CHLOROPHYLL
If you opt for chlorophyll in supplemental form, choose one that gives a daily dose between 100 and 300 mg. They can easily be found in health food and drug stores and come in pill and liquid form as well as in ointments.
Drinking your chlorophyll is a wonderful way to oxygenate your skin and supplies needed hydration, resulting in a bright and clear complexion. It also stimulates the lymphatic system which can help decrease puffiness and cellulite.
If you're not a fan of chlorophyll in its liquid form, as the taste can be a little overpowering if you’re not used to it, you can dilute a teaspoon of it in water, juice or add it to your morning shake. You can even add it to a batch of your favorite summertime sangria. You can also find flavored chlorophyll in many natural food stores.

Just one caution, its green pigment can make your teeth and tongue a little green so try not to let it linger too long in your mouth.
